Tickets from Inspiration

There will be a rare opportunity to hear world class musicians performing in St Thomas’ Church in Goring on Saturday 27th April at 7.30pm. Internationally acclaimed pianist Ian Fountain and violinist Erika Geldsetzer will be giving a violin and piano recital with piano solos. The programme will include Elgar’s violin and piano sonata, Wagner-Liszt paraphrase of the Tannhauser overture, two Chopin nocturnes and Schubert’s Fantasie for violin and piano.

Ian became the youngest winner of the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Masters Competition in Tel Aviv in 1989. His performing career has taken him all over the world to play with many of the leading international orchestras. He has also made several critically acclaimed recordings and, since 2001, has been a piano professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Erika was the leader of the European Union Youth Orchestra for three years and is a founder member of the Faure Quartet based in Germany. She has enjoyed a successful career both with the quartet and as a soloist since 1994. Since 2014, she has had a teaching position at the University of the Arts, Berlin.

Ian has long-standing family connections with Goring and he and Erika are kindly undertaking this performance in aid of the organ fund for St Thomas’ church.
