the Town Hall and stalls in the marketplace
Organisations such as Citizens Advice and Sustainable Wallingford will be attending

The community will be able to get advice on how to save on
energy bills, DIY ways to improve insulation in the home and what financial support is
available. The event will also feature renewable energy alternatives.

Cllr Katharine Keats-Rohan says 'at a time when mounting concern about climate change has
collided with a cost of living crisis, it is more important than ever that we look as a
community and as individuals at what we can do to help ourselves, each other and our
planet. We are planning three events looking at the challenge - heating our homes, food and
drink, and travel. There will be something for everyone in our first event on home heating,
starting with insulating your home, economical use of appliances, all the way to the latest
heat pumps and solar options.'
The Town Hall will host video screenings of ways to reduce energy usage and talks from
Citizen’s Advice, Cllr Sue Cooper, Cabinet member for environment, climate change and
nature recovery, and Cllr Pete Sudbury, Cabinet Member for Climate Change Delivery &
Environment. The audience for the talks and video screenings will be on a first come, first
served basis as there is a limited capacity inside the building.
A community support page has been uploaded to the Town Council website, which
signposts people to what support is available:
www.wallingfordtowncouncil.gov.uk/community-2/community-support/
There will be a road closure in place from 9.30am – 2.30pm.

The Town Council invites the community to bring forward ideas of what they would like to
see at the next 2 climate events, which will focus on consumption and travel. If you are part
of an organisation or group and would like to take part in these events, please email
