Dr Ikuko Inoguchi is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist, performer-scholar, musicologist and teacher. Born in Japan, she has also studied in the US and the UK. Ikuko is particularly interested in exploring repertoire which displays cross-cultural influences. She has premiered a number of works and worked with composers, such as Paul Chihara, William Drabkin, and Joe Cutler. Her imaginative concert programmes reflect her interest in different expressions of musical time and the artistic pursuit of a variety of timbre. She performs in concerts both as a solo artist and in duets together with players of many different instruments, both Japanese and Western. We are delighted to welcome this accomplished musician back to St Mary’s.
Sally Goodworth Sally Goodworth has a busy career as an accompanist and has been regularly employed in this role by Brunel and Reading Universities, The London College of Music, The Oxford Flute Summer School, the RAF, Berkshire Maestros, and Candlelight Opera. She has performed in many diverse venues including the South Bank, Wigmore Hall, and Windsor Castle, and has toured frequently in Europe and China and has taken part in masterclasses and been recorded on albums. Sally was a visiting accompanist, lecturer in keyboard skills, and a mentor in piano pedagogy at Reading University and is now Music Coordinator at Brunel University, She is also head of piano for MTB Exams. Other freelance projects have included outreach work with the ECO, performing in Sir Peter Hall’s award-winning film She’s Been Away and being a piano hand double and recording soundtrack music for the last ever Poirot film, Curtains. We are enchanted to welcome her back to St Mary’s.
Hayley Tull began learning the piano at five and the flute at age seven. When still a teenager she accompanied choirs under Gwen Arch. She moved to Tokyo in 1993 and accompanying instrumental soloists and playing the flute and piccolo in orchestras. Hayley has taught the flute and piano at Berkshire Maestros, was the Assistant Director of Music at Cheam School 2019-2023 and now works at the Abbey School in Reading. She is also a professional accompanist for music exams, auditions and concerts, accompanies choirs including the Reading Male Voice Choir and plays the flute in orchestras. Hayley accompanied Alice Gore in the Woodwind Category Final of the BBC Young Musician of the year in 2020.
