READING BACH CHOIR AT ST THOMAS’

Reading Bach Choir’s next concert, entitled The heart starts
singing, will be at St Thomas’ Church on Saturday 19 March
at 7.30pm – the first concert under new conductor Daniel
Mahoney, who has previously worked with the University of
Birmingham choirs, Schola Cantorum of Oxford, the City of
Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Symphony
Orchestra. The concert will feature two beautiful motets by JS
Bach, to open and close the programme, along with English
works by Purcell and Tomkins and contemporary American
composers. It will also feature the UK and European premiere
of a piece by Saunder Choi which was written as a response to
Bach’s motet Singet dem Herrn. Tickets £15 (£5 for under 18s),
