CHOLSEY REPAIR CAFÉ
Saturday 20 July will see the next Cholsey Repair Café at the Cholsey Pavilion in Station Road. Timings have been brought forward, so doors will open at 10am and close at 12.45pm. Many types of repair can be attempted, from lawnmowers to bicycles, toys to turntables. Sharpening of garden tools and knives is especially popular and even some domestic electronic items have been repaired. As usual, repairs are free but a donation towards operating costs is appreciated. For more information, see www.cholseyrepaircafe.com or email repaircafe@cholsey.com The knowledgeable volunteers will be there to show you how to tackle a wide range of repairs to household items – or at least offer advice on what is possible. Repair work is free, although donations towards operating costs are gratefully received. Early visitors will also be able to get tea, coffee and cakes at the Cholsey Community Café, right next door.
Looking towards 2024, the sessions will continue to run on the third Saturday of odd-numbered months. You can find out more about the scheme at www.cholseyrepaircafe.com or telephone 01491 652295.

As usual, talented volunteers will be on hand to try to help you fix all manner of broken household items, toys, clothing, bikes and so forth. Subject to availability of specialists, there is also a sharpening service for knives and tools. The underlying aim is to teach repair skills that reduce demands on the world’s reserves of energy and materials — and perhaps save you needless expense. More information can be found at www.cholseyrepaircafe.com.

Bring along your broken item and a team
