SWITCH-ON OF THE GORING CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AND CHRISTMAS TREE IN RECTORY GARDENS
Once again there will be a wonderfully lit Christmas Tree, twinkling away throughout the Festive Season and Christmas lights elegantly draped over the trees in Rectory Gardens and in the High Street, bringing good cheer to everyone who both lives and passes through the Goring Gap during this celebratory period.
The official Switch-On will be at 6pm for around 20/25 mins, on the night of the Goring Christmas Shopping Evening on Friday the 1st December, in the Rectory Gardens. This will be accompanied by Bonnie Roberts, former singer and co-chair of the Goring Gap Business Network (GGBN), who will sing a couple of Christmas numbers and then be joined by local singers organised by Frances Thompson to whom we are owe a debt of gratitude. Richard Roberts, a local poet, will also kindly author a Christmas Poem especially for the event. Monies will be raised for the Sue Ryder Charity.

We are extremely grateful to David Slack, Managing Director of Yattendon Estates Ltd for his sponsorship of our wonderful Christmas Tree in 2017. We are indebted to him for his kindness and generosity. Thank you.

Our thanks go to Goring Parish Council for their continued support of this event. Also thanks go to Geoff Leon from Festival Vision for helping to put them all up safely, to Rob Jones from The Garden Design Company Ltd for collecting the 20 foot tree, to the Goring Fire and Rescue Service for erecting the smaller trees in the High Street, to Dave Holt and Chris Hawes – our sound technicians, to Shannon Robinson from SLR Photography for taking all our publicity photos and last but not least, thanks must go to the GGBN and its dedicated Committee and volunteers for organising this activity and for their hard work and diligence in helping the local community and for bringing a ray of light and happiness into everyone’s lives.
The GGBN, through networking, helps people promote business in and out of the Goring Gap and is open to every type of business including SMEs, Corporates and sole traders. All of our Committee members approach business and the Network with great levels of enthusiasm and we hope that our diverse range of events throughout the year, bring people together to create trust and forge lasting business relationships.
