Where better to immerse yourself in Kenneth Grahame’s classic The Wind in the Willows than at Withymead?
Set on the banks of the Thames, Withymead can well be imagined as the setting for The River Bank or The Wild Wood.
As you travel through the reserve you will discover characters from the classic children’s book among the willows and woodlands. Listen carefully and you might hear the Piper at the Gates of Dawn or Mr Toad crying Poop Poop!
There will be woodland crafts to try, ponds to dip in, stories to listen to. Like Ratty and Mole you can picnic on the grass and enjoy the peace and beauty of this magical setting.
